Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
Search text entered in a partner box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and returns its results. We do not keep a copy of those terms in our own site logs.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or contact message may be retained so we can answer it. We keep it within the people handling the request and disclose it outside the organization only when law requires us to do so.
Data We Gather Automatically
A visit to a page may create routine technical logs, including:
- The page-view time and date
- The site that referred you, when available
- Your device type and operating system
- Your browser name and version
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The IP address assigned to your device
Cookies and Analytics
Small cookie files may be stored in your browser so analytics services can group traffic and show which pages receive visits. You can block cookies in your browser settings. Search or page features may work differently after cookies are disabled.
What We Do With This Data
- Finding and correcting technical problems
- Measuring which pages are useful to visitors
- Keeping the site available and responsive
- Forwarding a query to the search partner that runs the tool
- Displaying advertising that may reflect browsing interests
No Warrant Data on File
Shelby County Warrant Records does not host or sell a warrant database and does not build personal warrant files about visitors or other people. The site provides general directions to SCSO, the courts that issue process, and city clerks. Tennessee has no complete public statewide warrant portal in the reviewed official sources. Visitor data is not compiled into consumer reports, and the site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the sponsored search boxes. Their privacy notices, retention periods, and sharing practices apply to information entered in those tools. We do not set those rules. Read the provider’s policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links here lead to Shelby County, city, state, federal, and commercial services. Once you leave our pages, the destination’s privacy rules apply. Review them before giving that service personal information.
An advertising partner may use its own systems to measure activity across websites. We do not control that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Information may be shared with or handled by:
- Analytics providers that measure site traffic
- Government or law-enforcement offices when a valid legal demand requires disclosure
- Advertising networks that serve ads
- Search partners receiving a query submitted through their tool
How We Protect Your Data
We use routine safeguards for information under our control. No internet system can be guaranteed secure, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This reference is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal details from people under 18. If you believe a minor sent information to us, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
Your Data Rights
Tennessee’s Public Records Act, T.C.A. § 10-7-503, covers access to government records held by public offices, subject to exceptions. It does not govern visitor data held by this private reference site. You may contact us to ask what site information we hold and request:
- A copy of site information associated with you
- Correction of information that is inaccurate
- Deletion of information, where applicable
- To opt out of certain data uses, where available
